I used to think I just needed more willpower. More discipline. More motivation. But I’ve learned (the hard way) that none of those are reliable long term. So I’m trying something different.
For the next 30 days, I’m committing to 10 minutes of tidying up every day. Not because I love cleaning, but because I want to build a habit of consistency.

According to a study published in the European Journal of Social Psychology, it takes an average of 66 days to form a new habit—but the key isn’t sheer will. It’s environmental cues, repeated action, and emotional reward.
James Clear, author of Atomic Habits, emphasizes that “You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.” In other words, you don’t need more willpower—you need a process.
Why This Matters
I struggle to stay consistent unless I truly commit and create space for it. So instead of expecting motivation to carry me, I’m anchoring my day in this simple 10-minute act. It’s manageable, repeatable, and meaningful.
